Like a lot of very good ideas, Dubbo CYMS Old Boys Club was born after a chance meeting of a few ex-CYMS Players over a few beers at a local Hotel.

They had all served their time as Committee members after their playing days were over and although they still wanted to support the CYMS Club, they did not want to go back to the General Committee, they wanted to do it as a separate body. After this and several more meetings, their desire to form a supporting club grew stronger and after more ex-CYMS players provided support, the Dubbo CYMS Old Boys Club was formed in 1998.
 

To ensure the Club was formed correctly, we sought legal advice from local Solicitor (also an ex- CYMS player) Doug Butcherine, who generously provided this free of charge.  A  Committee of seven was then formed, with the Club being formally incorporated and Dubbo CYMS Old Boys Inc was underway.  

To give our new Club an identity, it was agreed a mascot or logo that reflected our image was important.  After a brief chat with local artist, Pat Deverson, a caricature of “Doddy” appeared a week later and was just perfect.  Pat was also happy to provide her talents free of charge.

Dubbo CYMS Old Boys Club was formed with a vision to support the Dubbo CYMS Football Club financially and then at a later stage assist with the construction of a CYMS Clubhouse at Dubbo’s No 1 Oval.
  
Dubbo CYMS Old Boys Club have been a major sponsor of Dubbo CYMS for the last 24 years providing football  jumpers, shorts and sock for all grades. We have also sponsored St John’s Junior Rugby League Club with the provision of sponsorship for the Under 16’s in the form of jumpers, shorts and socks over this time. Also back In 2009 we also sponsored St Laurence’s Primary School with a full set of football jumpers.

Dubbo CYMS Old Boys are proud of their achievements in the short space of 24 years and it is our intention to continue to support Dubbo CYMS and rugby league in general as we have all retained the passion for the Club and the game which has us so much enjoyment.
